Content

The choice of entertainment for people with hearing impairment does not limit to mime, dance or physical theatre. Any type of drama or theatre production with theatrical interpretation would be a potential choice of programme for people with hearing impairment.

Theatrical Interpretation brings sign interpretation to an artistic level in which not only lines are being translated, the embodiment and facial expressions of each character would be incorporated into the interpretation. Moreover, the interpreters also act as a visual cue for audience with hearing impairment to know when it is important to look at the action on stage rather than following the interpretation by giving pause or turning their heads towards the stage.

Kevin will share with us on the ways to make arts and cultural programmes more accessible to people with hearing impairment.
