Accessible Guided Tours
Occupying the meticulously conserved Central Police Station Compound, Tai Kwun – Centre for Heritage and Arts is one of Hong Kong’s most significant revitalisation projects. The compound contains three Declared Monuments – the former Central Police Station, Central Magistracy and Victoria Prison – altogether 16 historic buildings, two outdoor spaces and two new structures designed by Herzog & de Meuron on a 13,600-square-metre site. Tai Kwun is the local colloquial name used by police officers and the public alike to refer to the former police headquarters and the surrounding CPS compound. The name has been adopted by the Jockey Club CPS Limited for the project as a reminder of the historical importance of the compound.
You will discover the historical significance of this unique heritage site through this guided tour. The tour serves as an introduction to your exploration around Tai Kwun’s Heritage Storytelling Spaces and other heritage offerings.
