This production is a trilogy, adapted from a novel by contemporary Hungarian writer Ágota Kristóf. In this world so full of lies, how can you be safe!
The Notebook ended with the twin boys living in two cities. One of them walked over their father’s dead body cross the border and entered another country. The other stayed with their grandmother. Lucas, who stayed behind and lived alone, tried hard to help the underprivileged and the unfortunate around him: he took in a woman and her illegitimate child, brought food to the priest’s house, listened to the owner of the stationery shop about his long-harboured dream of becoming a writer, and attempted to comfort a woman whose husband had been sentenced to death… In a land of war, these stories are direct reflections of the human soul.
In the last part of the trilogy, twin brothers Lucas and Claus are reunited after 50 years of separation. Despite the long years of waiting, the distance between them did not diminish with time. Through narrations from both sides, the truth regarding their childhood is gradually revealed. What happened to them during all these years of separation? All is revealed in Part Three of the trilogy.
